Annual Event to Highlight Pivotal Six-Day-War Battle Site and Jerusalem’s “Other” Wall

VOORHEES TOWNSHIP, N.J., July 20, 2023 — Israel’s Heritage Sites — from the ancient to the modern — are powerful symbols that inspire and educate visitors about the rich history of the Jewish homeland.

On Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 10:00 am, Jewish National Fund-USA’s Spirit of Israel Brunch, taking place at Congregation Beth El, will spotlight its affiliate Ammunition Hill, an Israeli heritage site that commemorates the historic victory of the Six-Day War and the reunification of Jerusalem.

With the event taking place just a few weeks shy of Veteran’s Day, attendees will also learn how they can honor a beloved Jewish military veteran at Jerusalem’s “other” wall, The Wall of Honor at Ammunition Hill. The site boasts hundreds of dedicated plaques and serves as a tribute to the heroism and courage of Jewish soldiers who, throughout history, have fought in defense of the countries in which they lived.

“Thanks to the generosity of philanthropists and lay leaders in Southern New Jersey and beyond, Jewish National Fund-USA preserves and operates more than 150 heritage sites in Israel, developing them into interesting and interactive experiences that tell the history of the modern State of Israel,” said Jewish national Fund-USA’s Southern New Jersey Board President, Judith Galler. “The Spirit of Israel Brunch is a much-looked-forward-to annual event in our pro-Israel community, and I know learning about the heroes of our Jewish homeland will blow people away.”

The event’s keynote speaker, Alon Wald, is the Head of Marketing & Operations at Ammunition Hill and has served his country as an officer in several elite IDF units, the Israeli Secret Service (Shabak), and oversaw security operations at Israeli embassies. Wald captivates audiences by sharing his deeply personal and emotional connection to the site where he lost his father in combat.

Guests will also learn how they can join thousands of Israel supporters at the Global Conference for Israel (jnf.org/global), taking place from November 30-December 3, 2023, in Denver, CO.
