LOS ANGELES, November 1, 2022 — Women in Greater Los Angeles who are passionate about supporting the land and people of Israel came together at the Brentwood Country Club on October 26, 2022, for Jewish National Fund-USA’s Women for Israel reception.
With delectable cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on hand, patrons learned about the organization’s game-changing initiatives in Israel and the important role philanthropic “wonder women” play in improving the quality of life for residents in the Negev and Galilee.

Attendees heard from keynote speaker, Shosh Mitzman, who shared how a coalition of communities in Israel called MAKOM are empowering and revitalizing towns and villages throughout the country’s Negev and Galilee regions with the support of Jewish National Fund-USA. The organization addresses social challenges ranging from housing and food security to literacy and immigration, and has supported many Ukrainian refugees who recently made aliyah (immigration to Israel).
“It was an honor and privilege to host Jewish National Fund-USA’s like-minded women who share a passion for Israel,” said Event Chair and hostess Maureen Shapiro. “I love the work we do and the friendships we make.”
