Videos and Discussion Questions
This year’s program is “The Trees in Your Neighborhood” and the goal is to move beyond the conversation of what trees provide from “air and paper” to the specific values that we can get from specific trees. It's made up of videos, questions, and activities that can be accessed wherever you will be teaching.
The first section has videos and information about what tree is YOUR state tree, and why did that tree become so important to your state? The second part is videos about Israel and trees, from the symbolism of the olive branch to trees that the halutzim (pioneers) planted, to the story of Eli Cohen, the spy who got the Syrian government to plant eucalyptus trees on the Golan so Israel could target them in the Six-Day war, and more.
We hope you enjoy engaging with your students by using the discussion questions and activities for the videos below, and share student answers on your fundraising page for your classroom!
