Long Island Did It…You Can, Too

Getting back to having in-person events can be a challenge, sometimes you need to take a new approach and think outside of the box…literally! JNF-USA Long Island was able to have a very successful event simply by taking a walk in the park.

Representatives from our Israel Affiliates are starting to travel to the United States and are delighted to share their experiences & accomplishments with groups of any size.

On Long Island, our WFI Steering Committee invited friends on a lovely walk with Ido Reichman Esikovits from Green Horizons. We learned how Green Horizons provides outdoor, educational activities for Israeli youth with the goal of building confidence and interpersonal and leadership skills for students of all faiths. Their work is so impactful on the young people who participate in this program that 56% of attendees become officers in the IDF and 87% go on to receive higher education.

After the walk, those who were comfortable dining indoors went to a Kosher Deli nearby and ate in a private room.

Women had the option of donating to Green Horizons or JNF-USA directly.

All of the new attendees were friends with committee members, showing we can’t underestimate the importance of our committee members when it comes to sharing JNF-USA’s story and inviting networks.

After our small event, four new Sapphires joined WFI. In an impressive show of generational giving, daughters of committee members joined as Roots and Women’s Alliance members. One attendee was so inspired that she’ll be joining our steering committee.

After months of virtual connections, it was a joy to finally be together in person.
