Dr. Clive Lipchin

Narrator of Sustainable Nation

As director of the Center for Transboundary Water Management, Clive Lipchin brings together water professionals and policymakers across Israel, the Palestinian territories, and Jordan to foster cooperation in water conservation, desalination, wastewater treatment, and education. A respected scholar, Mr. Lipchin has published and presented widely on the topic of transboundary water management in the Middle East. World Toilet Day

Designated by the United Nations as World Toilet Day, November 19th is a day that celebrates the safe and dignified lives that hygienic toilets provide us and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. This year the World Toilet Day theme is “Sustainable Sanitation and Climate Change” and since water and sanitation are intrinsically connected, Clive will share water and sustainability initiatives of the Arava Institute, including but not limited to his sustainable solar powered toilet system currently functioning in the Bedouin Village of Umm Batin, Israel.
