Jewish National Fund-USA Announces New Miami-Dade Board of Trustees Member

Miami, FL- August 9, 2021 – Jewish National Fund-USA’s (JNF-USA) Miami-Dade leadership are pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Hendler, equity partner at Shutts & Bowen LLP to its Board of Trustees.

“Our smaller Board of Trustees is a complementary body to our Regional Board of Directors, reserved for our long-term supporters and now through a new corporate communal engagement initiative, it also includes leading professionals in their field, appointed to represent their personal and employers’ support for the land and people of Israel,” said President of JNF-USA in Miami-Dade and partner at Mark Migdal & Hayden, Maia Aron.

 

“We commend Shutts & Bowen and Michelle for their commitment to JNF-USA’s mission to support the growth of communities in Israel’s Negev and Galilee regions,” said JNF-USA Miami-Dade Director, Mike Teichberg. “Every day, we work to connect members of all faiths and backgrounds in the Miami community to Israel through trips, events, and virtual programming. We also provide free Israel education programs to Miami K-12 schools and college campuses.”

 

Aron added: “Mike and I are closing our third campaign year together and are excited to continue to grow our community and channel Michelle’s talent, expertise and energy into furthering our mission.”

 

Michelle Hendler is a Partner in the Shutts & Bowen Miami office, where she is the Co-Chair of the Creditors' Rights Practice Group. Michelle focuses her law practice on the real estate and financial services industries, representing lenders, real estate investors, and special servicers in commercial foreclosures, loan enforcement actions, guaranty claims, and note sales, as well as court-appointed receivers.

Handler has been named South Florida Legal Guide "Top Up and Comer," Creditors' Rights, Corporate and Business Litigation for four years; Florida Trend's Legal Elite, “Up and Comer,” Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy; and Florida Super Lawyers, Rising Star. Outside of the office, Michelle dedicates a significant amount of time to community and professional organizations. Michelle is a member of Urban Land Institute; she is the past Chair of the YMCA of South Florida Young Professionals Board; and she serves as Shutts & Bowen's liaison for the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation's Young Presidents Club. Michelle is also a graduate of Leadership Miami.
