The gavel is being passed on at Jewish National Fund’s (JNF) New England Board as Steve London assumes the position of president, which was held by Jeffrey Woolf for the past two years. London will take assume his new role at the beginning of the 2018 fiscal year, on October 1, 2017.

During his time as president, Woolf’s accomplishments were numerous, including the largest fundraising year on record, instituting a Board of Trustees, hosting two Major Donor Thank You events, and doubling the size of the Lawyers for Israel. “Israel and JNF are my passion,” said Woolf. “I am a strong believer in taking your passion and turning it into reality.”

“It has been a wonderful two years working closely with Jeffrey to strengthen JNF’s presence in New England,” said JNF New England Executive Director Sara Hefez. “I have no doubt that, as his predecessors, Jeffrey will continue being involved with JNF.”

London has a 30 year history of involvement with JNF, which began during a Tree of Life™ Dinner in 1987. Not only does he bring institutional knowledge to the position, but he also has the passion and commitment to elevate JNF’s role in the community.

“I am doing this now because more than ever I feel a strong connection to Israel and am empowered to do something with a positive impact, to feel part of the story, to make a real difference,” said London. “I want to show my kids the importance of leadership and the work JNF does. I am proud to carry this torch!”

London has vision for his tenure as board president. He hopes to increase donor involvement in JNF; offer a personal touch to new donors; and collaborate with other organizations on programming.

“We are so grateful to Jeffrey for everything he has done and will continue to do; for his passion and his leadership. We look forward to setting new goals and surpassing all of our expectations with Steve in the coming years,” said Hefez.
