In his article “How Jewish People Invented Hope,” Rabbi Jonathan Sacks wrote that “to be a Jew is to be an agent of hope in a world serially threatened by despair. … Judaism is a sustained struggle, the greatest ever known, against the world that is, in the name of the world that could be, should be, but is not yet.”

In times when the Jewish community faces adversity, and Israel remains under constant threat, this message resonates deeply. Hope in the face of hardship is not a passive wish, but a call to action—a vision for a better world built on resilience, determination, and progress. It is the spirit that drives Jewish National Fund-USA’s work, embodying the notion that hope springs eternal.

For 125 years, Jewish National Fund-USA has transformed the dream of a thriving Israel into reality, evolving from its original goal of establishing a Jewish homeland into a movement focused on sustainable development, environmental protection, education, economic growth, health security, and community building across Israel. 

Jewish National Fund-USA’s impact extends far and wide throughout Israel. Our organization works tirelessly to improve infrastructure, build schools, provide water resources, establish medical and emergency response centers, and create peaceful, thriving communities—and we foster growth in places that are often forgotten or overlooked. Through the Build Together plan, focused on rebuilding Israel’s South, and the Reimagine plan, dedicated to growing and strengthening Israel’s North, Jewish National Fund-USA is securing a future that is diverse, equitable, and sustainable for all residents of Israel, Jewish, Arab, and Druze alike. Jewish National Fund-USA’s work is not just about solving immediate needs, but about shaping a future where every citizen of Israel can flourish.
