The JNFuture Leadership Institute Mission (JLIM) is an invitation-only tour of Israel for members and leaders of JNFuture. Through the lens of Israel’s history and its greatest leaders, participants explore Israel’s past, present, and future. Three of the young leaders who attended JLIM this summer share their experiences and insights.

Seeing the direct impact of Jewish National Fund-USA’s work on the ground was truly transformational. I could see and really feel how people’s lives are being truly improved, whole ecosystems are being generated and created, and the impact is exponentially changing the landscape and sentiment within the nation (literally and emotionally).

It was also so clear that when Jewish National Fund-USA undertakes an initiative, it does so with a high standard of quality and excellence. The organization looks 5, 10, 20, 30 years into the future and figures out what will really make systemic change. Every place we visited had beautiful architecture, modern construction, a high-end feel, and true dignity for the people and communities being served. We don’t just provide infrastructure; we provide a true paradigm shift in possibilities.

Dani Barsky

Pharmaceutical Advertising, Philadelphia, PA

My week in Israel with Jewish National Fund-USA and other young leaders from around the country was such a special experience. It was so incredible to see the impact that we are having on the land and people of Israel. What struck me the most is how forward-thinking each initiative is, not only helping Israel today but also looking 25, 50, 75 years into the future to ensure Israel can continue to thrive. From the Margalit Start-Up City in the north that creates jobs in the food-tech industry to a Housing Development Fund site in the South that accelerates the home-building process, Jewish National Fund-USA is truly building communities from the ground up and providing the opportunity for a better, more sustainable future. I’m excited to share my experiences with my community and encourage others to visit Israel to see these wonderful projects in person.

Describing my JNFuture Leadership Institute Mission trip this summer as merely impactful and meaningful would not do it justice. It was so much more than just five days of meetings, greetings, activities, and introductions. Our entire cohort, consisting of over a dozen young leaders, gained a profound understanding of Jewish National Fund-USA’s on-the-ground operations in Israel.

Each one of us had moments during the trip that we will cherish forever. Personally, our visit to ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran left an indelible mark on me. Situated in Israel’s Negev Desert, this expansive 25-acre rehabilitative village is a state-of-the-art facility providing unparalleled care for individuals with severe disabilities. My introduction to ADI Negev occurred in February when Elie Klein, the Director of Development, came to San Diego to meet with our chapter. Even though I had never been there or met the residents, I immediately felt a profound connection to this place. It wasn’t until JLIM that I had the privilege of exploring this amazing establishment firsthand and witnessing the transformative impact that JNF-USA has had on countless lives.
