A physician, author, nature lover, and lifelong learner, Dr. Robert Norman (z”l) approached the world with curiosity and compassion. “Everybody said it,” recalls his wife, Carol. “Robert lived 100 lives in one lifetime.”

Known affectionately as “Doc” to his patients, Robert spent more than three decades practicing dermatology in Tampa, his career rooted in healing and human connection. His love of knowledge never slowed; Robert authored more than 70 books and hundreds of articles, always seeking to share his knowledge and help improve lives.

That same spirit guided Robert’s connection to the land and people of Israel and Jewish National Fund. His first visit to Israel at age 19 left a profound impression, and through Jewish National Fund, Robert returned to Israel multiple times on missions and conferences. He became deeply involved in the organization, joining the Century Council and various committees, and serving on the Board of Directors. Robert was moved by the organization’s investment in education and population growth in Israel’s North and South.

One program held particular significance: Jewish National Fund’s Alexander Muss High School in Israel (Muss), where high school students experience a life-changing semester abroad. Robert became a proud ambassador for the program and a dormitory at Muss now bears his name, a testament to his dedication to lifelong Zionism and education.

Including Jewish National Fund in his trust was a natural extension of how Robert lived. “He wanted to do more,” Carol says. “And he wanted that giving to continue even after he was gone.” By making a legacy gift to Jewish National Fund, Robert ensured that the causes he believed in would endure. Through his generosity, he continues to live his values—transforming curiosity into commitment, learning into leadership, and a life well lived into a legacy that will strengthen Israel for generations to come.
