Dispatches from Israel

We’ve all seen it—the iconic tree certificate for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah or in memory of a loved one. But while Jewish National Fund-USA’s roots run deep in forestry, today its branches of hope stretch across Israel as the most trusted name in philanthropy.

Billions of dollars in bold initiatives are underway to attract 800,000 new residents to Israel’s North and South, transform local economies, and strengthen Zionist engagement. From the Negev to Kenya. At the organization’s Kasser Joint Institute for Food, Water, and Energy Security—run with the University of Arizona and Israel’s Arava Regional Councils—innovation travels both ways. A rural agrivoltaic farm in Kenya grows crops under solar panels, bringing food and power to remote communities while creating jobs for Israelis in the Negev. Thousands of students from Africa and Asia also come to learn in Israel’s South, further boosting the region’s economy.

Inclusion in Uniform. For young Israelis with disabilities, Jewish National Fund-USA’s programs open the door to serving in the IDF. Doron Laor, diagnosed with autism, found his place in the military through music—joining the program’s band and proving that ability, not disability, defines a soldier’s contribution.

Standing with Israel’s Heroes. Through Israel Support Packages (jnf.org/store) and Operation Hug (jnf.org/nefesh), Jewish National Fund-USA delivers morale-boosting aid and reunites lone combat soldiers with their families. Each package says: Am Yisrael—The people of Israel stand with you.

Soldiers With Packages

Building Tomorrow, Today. From medical and emergency response centers to the Galilee Culinary Institute by JNF and the $350 million World Zionist Village in Be’er Sheva, the organization is creating jobs, services, and opportunities.

For 125 years, Jewish National Fund-USA has planted more than trees—it’s planted hope, growth, and resilience for the land and people of Israel.
