On Friday, April 24, 2026, as candles are lit and glasses are filled, thousands across the United States, Canada, and Israel will gather in dining rooms, synagogues, and community centers to experience Jewish National Fund–USA’s second annual Shabbat for Israel, chaired by Sara Cannon, David Peskin, and Alyssa Russo.
Held in honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, Shabbat for Israel is a global celebration of heritage, hope, and our shared connection to the land and people of Israel. It’s a chance to come together for our Jewish homeland and learn more about Jewish National Fund–USA’s work in securing its future.
Anyone can be a Shabbat for Israel host. Simply register at no cost, prepare a Shabbat dinner, and share your love for Israel by inviting friends and family to your table. Hosts who registered by March 5 will receive a complimentary Shabbat for Israel Box featuring products from small businesses in Israel, including beautiful candle holders, a Shabbat for Israel toolkit, and more to help bring the evening to life.
Hosts and guests are encouraged to participate in several exciting pre-Shabbat experiences, including a virtual cooking class with the Galilee Culinary Institute by JNF, a “How We Celebrate Shabbat” webinar, and an exclusive host prep call with a Shabbat Box unboxing. Recordings of the webinars will be available to registered hosts.
Shabbat for Israel is more than just a meal—it’s a moment. So pull up a chair, raise a glass, and let’s celebrate Israel together.
