WYNWOOD, Fla., March 26, 2025 — Nearly 200 Miami-based real estate professionals attended Jewish National Fund-USA’s 2nd annual Real Estate Division Flagship Reception hosted by Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design in Wynwood on Sunday, March 23, 2025, for an exclusive philanthropic evening raising funds to rebuild communities devastated by terrorism in Israel’s north and south
Surrounded by several of the most influential real estate investors, developers, and industry professionals in South Florida, the event featured esteemed keynote speaker Ivan Kaufman, the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Arbor Realty Trust, Inc., a leading multifamily and commercial real estate lender and real estate investment trust. Kaufman is also actively involved in philanthropic initiatives, particularly in Israel, Jewish education, and community development.
Simon Ziff and Marisa & Russell Galbut
The event also featured an engaging discussion with revered panelists Russell Galbut, Managing Principal and Co-Founder of Crescent Heights, and Marisa Galbut, President, GFO Investments, in a conversation moderated by Simon Ziff, President, Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group. The industry powerhouses shared their perspectives on what’s driving development in Miami and beyond, offering a rare look at the Galbut family’s role in shaping South Florida’s real estate, their approach to working across generations, and their deep-rooted support for Jewish causes.
The elegant soiree also highlighted how, through various initiatives supported by the organization’s partners (donors) in Miami, South Florida, and nationwide, Jewish National Fund-USA is rebuilding communities bordering Gaza and Lebanon that were impacted on and after October 7, 2023, and how Jewish National Fund-USA’s Housing Development Fund is developing and constructing new communities throughout northern and southern Israel. The circle of impact of the organization’s Housing Development Fund expands much further, however, as every new home built is a catalyst for growth. More homes mean more families, which means more jobs, better schools, stronger infrastructure, and ultimately, ensuring Israel’s long-term security and prosperity.
Alex Witkoff & Marc Hershberg
“Each of you understands the power of real estate development and investment — not just as a profession or a career, but as a force for positive change,” said Jewish National Fund-USA Real Estate Executive Committee Member and Event Chair Marc Hershberg. “As developers, you don’t just build properties; you create communities, provide opportunities, and leave a lasting impact on the world around you. Together, we can harness that same vision and expertise to support an urgent and important cause. Imagine the impact of your investment. Picture a family whose home was destroyed in recent attacks, returning to a brand-new neighborhood with safe housing, reliable infrastructure, and economic opportunity. Imagine the pride you'll feel knowing that your contribution made that possible.
“We will be more remembered for what we donated than what we spent,” added Kaufman.

Additional event highlights included opening remarks from Ayellet Black, the Deputy Consul General of Israel in Miami, and a special presentation of a Jewish National Fund-USA tree certificate to Alex Witkoff, recognizing the Witkoff family for their contributions to bringing hostages back home.
The event was attended by Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner and was sponsored by several revered brands and organizations, including E11EVEN vodka.
