As the president of Women for Israel, I dedicate my heart and soul, as well as my time and funds, to supporting Jewish National Fund-USA’s work in Israel. As a proud Zionist, it was easy to fall in love with the mission, the work, and the community. Yet, people ask me, why is there a special Women for Israel division? Why should I get involved? What does women’s philanthropy even mean in 2025? For me, the answer is simple: Women for Israel is an avenue for us to set our own priorities, amplify women’s voices within the larger organization, and provide priceless lifelong connections and a valuable national network.
Here are my three biggest takeaways, and one piece of advice, for any skeptics that may remain:
1. Women Are Connectors
Philanthropy is not just about giving, it’s about connection with a mission and a network through shared values. Women are often skilled connectors, uniting donors, local leaders, communities, and family members to maximize impact. Through Women for Israel, I have seen firsthand how women bring people together, facilitating partnerships that drive meaningful change.
2. Women Have Unique Insights and Input
No matter the topic, women’s insights lead to innovative solutions that might otherwise be overlooked. By carving out a space for women’s leadership within Jewish National Fund-USA, we ensure that diverse voices help shape the future of philanthropy in Israel and beyond.
3. Women Empower Each Other
Philanthropy is about lifting others up. Women for Israel provides a place for networking, encouragement, and opportunities for growth. Here, women from all backgrounds come together to support each other while making a difference in the world.
One Piece of Advice: Get Involved!
If you’ve ever questioned whether your involvement in philanthropy truly matters, let me assure you: it does. Whether through time, talent, or finances, every woman has the power to contribute. Find a cause that speaks to your heart, join a network of like-minded women, and take action. The future of philanthropy is bright, and women are leading the way.
Women’s philanthropy in 2025 is about influence, impact, and inspiration. It is about using our collective power to drive change and shape the world we want to see. I am proud to stand at the helm of Women for Israel as we continue this important work, and I invite you to join us in making history.
