In this episode of IsraelCast, host Steven Shalowitz welcomes Amotz Eyal, founder and CEO of TPS-IL recounts how his early life under fire in the Israeli town of Psagot—and even his time as an entrepreneurial pizza delivery man—shaped his resolve to bring a new, innovative approach to how global media outlets cover Israel.
TPS-IL’s network of 450 civic journalist-volunteers and a “lean but mighty” editorial team works around the clock to deliver unfiltered video, photography, and investigative journalism to over 20 national news agencies and 22 major Latin American broadcasters. From revealing Hamas’s financial manipulation in Gaza to breaking stories that shaped international coverage of October 7, TPS-IL is changing the media landscape, one accurate report at a time.
Amotz Eyal is the founder and CEO of TPS-IL (The Press Service of Israel), the country’s only independent news agency delivering real-time, fact-based reporting from the field. Since 2010, he has led TPS-IL to become a trusted global source, countering misinformation and reaching over 8 billion people annually. Eyal has been recognized with the Moskowitz Prize for Zionism, named a Top 25 Young ViZionary by The Jerusalem Post and Jewish National Fund-USA, and honored by the IDF for his service during Operation Iron Swords. He also lectures on media and propaganda at Reichman University.
