Award-Winning Documentary to Premiere Online

Humanity faces a global water crisis. Yet, a tiny country is trying to change this paradigm and bring hope to the world. On April 26, 2020, the award-winning documentary, Sustainable Nation, will premiere online, highlighting how humanity can heal our planet through collaboration, technology, and a little chutzpah.

Water Blue Box

New York, NY: April 24, 2020 – There are 326 million cubic miles of water covering approximately 71 percent of the earth’s surface, yet, pollution, illegal dumping and extreme weather events have created a water crisis that threatens communities around the world.

In partnership with Jewish National Fund-USA (JNF-USA), OpenDor Media will present an online live screening of the award-winning documentary, Sustainable Nation, on Sunday, April 26, at 11:00 am PT / 2:00 pm ET. The live event can be viewed at: https://sustainablenation.com/online-premiere/.

From the creators of Netflix-featured Beneath the Helmet: From High School to the Home Front, and PBS-featured Israel Inside: How a Small Nation Makes a Big Difference, Sustainable Nation shows how fixing global water issues is not only a matter of life and death, it’s the start of healing the world.

“The year was 1989, and I remember sitting in my 4th grade class, listening to our homeroom teacher teaching us about the drought in California and the need to conserve water,” said Sustainable Nation, Director Micah Smith. “While the drought subsided a few years later and the water-saving methods we had learned became unnecessary, I would never forget what I really learned that day: every individual has a responsibility to protect the environment, and even the smallest acts can make a difference.”

“It is our hope that by sharing the stories and insights of the people in this small country, our film can have an impact on the global water crisis. While Sustainable Nation tells the stories of just a few people working on issues of water scarcity, the film is ultimately meant to teach the same lesson I learned in 4th grade: every individual has a responsibility to protect the environment, and even the smallest acts can make a difference.”
