SPECIAL IN UNIFORM Stands with Israel: Israel Resilience Campaign Activity
· All Special in Uniform soldiers were evacuated after October 7th
· Special in Uniform soldiers have packed and are delivering more than 1,000 care packages for other soldiers, and are providing support and assistance to the medical units of the IDF and MDA
· The organization has distributed more than 3,000 tablets to children with disabilities and special needs
SPECIAL IN UNIFORM: Everyday Work
Through affiliate Special in Uniform, Jewish National Fund-USA provides individuals with disabilities the chance to train and serve on IDF bases throughout the country. This program also helps its graduates integrate into the workforce and Israeli society in meaningful ways.
Funding Opportunities
CLASS FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED: $1,800
Support a class to teach sign language to soldiers and commanders to eliminate the barriers of hearing loss.
INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING PER SOLDIER: $2,500
Training includes skills in daily life, safety, and well-being, self-advocacy/self determination, communication, and household management.
SOLDIER & CANINE TRAINING PROGRAM: $3,600
This 8-month program helps develop the correct attitude and ability with which to treat dogs for service in the IDF and Border Patrol: directing a dog, operating dog kennels: cleaning, feeding, and basic dog training.
ADOPT A SOLDIER: $5,000
At the core of Special in Uniform’s success is the warm, personal relationship that develops between the staff and the soldiers with special needs. Forge a special relationship of your own by “adopting” one of Special in Uniform’s soldiers and sponsoring their needs for one year that will help him or her grow and develop.
