Negev Desert, Israel: April 21, 2025 — Inspired by David Ben Gurion’s declaration that “The future of Israel lies in the Negev [Israel's south],” Jewish National Fund-USA is reaffirming its long-standing commitment to Israel’s southern frontier, even amidst the country’s most challenging times since October 7. With Israel’s population projected to surge from 10 million today to 15 million by 2040, the Negev Desert is emerging not just as an opportunity, but as a national imperative.
Fifteen years ago, Jewish National Fund-USA launched its pioneering Blueprint Negev campaign to reimagine the region, which comprises 60% of Israel’s landmass but is home to only 8% of its population.
