Gary Jay Kushner

Gary Jay Kushner is a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Hogan Lovells, LLP. He has been in the food industry for nearly 40 years and his clients are some of the largest food corporations and trade associations in the world. He has participated in the development of virtually every law and regulation affecting the food industry in the last four decades. He analyzes legislation considered by the U.S. Congress and state legislatures and regulations proposed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and FDA. Previously, Gary served as Vice President and General Counsel for the American Meat Institute, where he directed the organization’s legal, regulatory, and legislative activities. Prior to entering the private practice of law, he served as Staff Counsel for Scientific Affairs at the Grocery Manufacturers of America. Gary began his legal career as law clerk to the Honorable John R. Hess in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia. He is a member of the President’s Society and Century Council.
