In a Rosh Hashanah message to Jewish National Fund-USA’s supporters, Galilee Culinary Institute by JNF (GCI by JNF) Culinary Director and Co-Founder, Chef Lior Lev Sercarz shared his excitement about why the year 5781 will be one of new beginnings for the people of Israel’s Upper Eastern Galilee.
After much anticipation, GCI by JNF launched their official website (galileeculinaryinstitute.com) as the organization begins to accept expressions of interest from aspiring culinary changemakers wishing to study at the Rosenfield School of Culinary Arts on the Marvin Sukonik Campus.
In his New Year greeting, Sercarz shared his hopes that the coming year will be full of “great new adventures, great new beginnings, lots of hope and adventures [that are] only filled with good food, amazing people, and great relationships.”
“[I’m] excited to share the great progress that we are doing with the Galilee Culinary Institute at Kibbutz Gonen in the Kiryat Shmona area. [It’s] a project, an adventure that brings great hope to the people of the north of Israel and the Upper Eastern Galilee.”

“To the young culinary community in Israel and around the world who will have a new home to educate and train and create new amazing experiences: This is the beginning of a journey for all of us here in the United States, Israel, and around the world that I know will bring lots of great adventures, lots of hope, lots of new beginnings for new families moving up to the north [of Israel] and starting their businesses...”
Sercarz ended his message by urging GCI by JNF’s supporters to remain strong: “Wishing you a sweet and spicy, of course, Rosh Hashanah. If you are with your families, let this New Year be an amazing one regardless of everything happening. We can do it and we will do it with all of you. Shana Tova!”
