Community to Unite at Breakfast for Israel in Detroit to Secure Israel’s Future

May 06, 2026

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., May 6, 2026 — Philanthropists and community leaders will unite in solidarity with the people of Israel on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Jewish National Fund-USA’s Breakfast for Israel, a meaningful morning dedicated to unity, resilience, and shared commitment to securing Israel’s future. The event will serve as a platform for connection, inspiration, and collective support for Israel during this critical time.

The event’s featured speaker is veteran Israeli diplomat Shahar Azani, who empowers audiences to counter antisemitism with facts, empathy, and courage. Drawing on decades in diplomacy and as a frequent contributor to media outlets focusing on Israel, Jewish issues, and the Middle East, Azani shares practical tools for meaningful, values-driven conversations about Israel.

“Despite the geopolitics and the tumultuous oceans and waves and tsunamis, one thing has remained steadfast, which is Israelis’ faith in Israel, the Jewish community's faith in Israel,” said Azani.

Attendees will also learn how Jewish National Fund-USA is changing lives in Israel by creating the most livable towns and cities in the country's North and South and links learning, travel, and leadership so youth, families, and adults stay connected to the land and people of Israel from generation to generation. Additionally, the event will touch upon how the organization provided logistical and security support, fire trucks, and medical equipment to strengthen Israel’s Home Front during the war with Iran.

“Jewish National Fund-USA was there yesterday, we are there today, and we will be there tomorrow—ensuring that even in times of crisis, we are not just responding, but building a stronger, resilient future for the land and people of Israel,” said Rabbi Dan Horwitz, Jewish National Fund-USA Executive Director, Midwest States. “From emergency response to long-term development, every investment we make helps ensure these regions thrive for generations to come.”
