The Story
It all started with this young woman. Meet SHIR.
Singer. Songwriter. AMHSI alumna.
In the summer of 2016, SHIR came to Alexander Muss High School in Israel as a student and an Arizona Impact Fellow. She had an amazing summer full of fun, learning and growing. And she deepened her connection with Israel.
In the year that followed, she continued her fellowship. Shir helped promote Alexander Muss High School in Israel and spoke at recruitment events. She also served as a teen ambassador for Jewish National Fund.
In her service to AMHSI-JNF, she went to speak about her experience in Israel at the Phoenix Major Donor Weekend in March of 2017, where she met our own Sharon Freedman and Russell Robinson. And they invited her to sing at their gala that evening.
She was then put in touch with Jewish National Fund Marketing Department, and the rest, as they say, is history. Watch our video series “The Making of a Song” to discover more about our creative process.
