Join JNF on Campus for our first Positively Israel program of the year as we discuss combatting anti-Semitism in entertainment, as well as what it's like for two Jewish women working in this industry. We will also discuss JNF's Arts & Entertainment Task Force, and the ways in which it builds community both in Israel and in the U.S.

Sarah Herman

 

Sarah Herman is from Los Angeles, California, and is an experienced digital media marketer with a strong background in the sports industry. She currently works at the National Football League, advising the NFL's 32 Clubs' executive teams with their digital platforms, strategies and initiatives. Sarah holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a Masters in Communication Management, both from the University of Southern California. She is also currently pursuing her Masters in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University in a fully employed graduate program. Sarah is the President of the JNFuture Los Angeles Board, sits on the Los Angeles Regional Board, is a member of the Arts & Entertainment task force, and is a proud Root Society donor. In addition to her work with Jewish National Fund, Sarah is a Community Representative with JDC Entwine and is a member of the Community Leadership Institute (CLI) with the Jewish Federation in Los Angeles.

Lana Melman

 

Lana Melman, the CEO of Liberate Art Inc., is a leader in combating the cultural boycott (BDS) campaign against Israel. A 20-year veteran of the entertainment industry, Lana has served as a writer, producer, attorney and creative executive for companies such as CBS, Warner Bros., and Paramount.

She has worked with the representatives of over a thousand artists targeted by the boycott campaign and has been instrumental in preventing numerous cancellations of scheduled concerts and tours in Israel.

Lana is often interviewed on talk radio and TV and works to educate others about the tactics, strategy and goals of the cultural BDS through speaking engagements and opinion pieces in international publications. She has a book about the cultural boycott campaign, Artists in the Crosshairs, due out in Fall 2021.

Lana is a proud JNF Sapphire Society and Arts & Entertainment Task Force member.
