Keren Leibovitch

Israeli Paralympic Gold Medalist

During her service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Keren Leibovitch broke her back, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. She began swimming as part of her recovery regimen and two years later, by the age of 27, she found herself on the podium in Sydney, Australia, winning an Olympic gold medal. Keren went back to the Olympic podium six more times and broke multiple world records. In 2011, after six years of hard work, she was able to teach herself how to walk again and since has opened a Pilates studio where she helps support disabled people of all ages.
