This week on IsraelCast, we are joined by Adele Raemer, who has lived in a Kibbutz on the border with Gaza since 1975. A mother and grandmother, she moderates a Facebook group called “Life on the Border”, which describes what life is like for residents of the Gaza Envelope communities during both calm times as well as during periods of tension and high alert. Listen as Adele paints an honest and insightful picture of life in this region, and what Jewish National Fund is doing to support people who live there.

Raemer, a mother, grandmother, and teacher, was named by Ha’aretz as one of the top ten Jewish faces making waves in 2018. She blogs and posts regularly in her Facebook group, and recently was invited to testify before the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva to address the Independent Commission of Inquiry in November about events on the Gaza Border over the past year. Raemer also loves to make people laugh, and in her spare time is a medical clown.
